Choosing the right translator is like visiting a doctor. When you have a general issue to resolve, you visit a General Practitioner. When you have a specific issue, you go to a doctor who specialises in the field in question. It’s an analogy of course, but choosing the right translator for your project works in the same way: it’s ok to give general translation projects to “general” translators, but only entrust specialist text to translators with lots of great experience (and perhaps formal qualifications) in your project field. Personally, I will not accept work outside of my niche markets (i.e. no science or medical thanks!). I concentrate on business, contracts, corporate matters, legal, marketing, social sciences. See my Translation Services page for more details on how to choose the best translator for you.
